Recovery Support Specialist

The Recovery Support Specialist is a vital member of our multidisciplinary team who uses their lived experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery to provide hope, guidance, and practical support to individuals receiving outpatient services. This role emphasizes peer-to-peer engagement, advocacy, and skill-building to help clients navigate their recovery journey.

Key Responsibilities

Build trusting relationships with clients by sharing personal recovery experiences in a professional and supportive manner. Assist clients in identifying strengths, setting goals, and developing individualized recovery plans. Provide education and coaching on coping strategies, wellness tools, and community resources. Support clients in accessing housing, employment, healthcare, and other social determinants of health. Facilitate peer support groups and recovery-oriented activities. Collaborate with clinicians, case managers, and other team members to ensure integrated care. Document services in compliance with agency and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

Lived experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery and willingness to share your story.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of state-approved Peer Support Specialist training within 90 days
Ability to obtain certification as a Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) within 12 months

Salary:

High School Degree or GED: $18.00-$22.00/hour Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS): $23.00-$25.00/hour
