The Auto Body Reconditioning Technician is responsible for restoring vehicles to like-new condition through cosmetic repairs, detailing, paint touch-ups, and minor bodywork. This position also specializes in the professional installation of bedliners on trucks, ensuring a clean and durable finish. Responsibilities
Vehicle Reconditioning
Perform light body repairs (dents, dings, scratches, scuffs).
Apply touch-up paint or blend areas to match the existing finish.
Buff and polish vehicle exteriors to restore shine and remove imperfections.
Conduct thorough interior and exterior vehicle detailing.
Maintain documentation of work completed for tracking and quality control.
Bedliner Installation
Prepare truck beds by cleaning and scuffing surfaces for proper adhesion.
Mask off surrounding areas to ensure clean application.
Use spray-in or drop-in liner systems (e.g., LINE-X, Rhino Linings).
Apply liner coatings evenly and with proper thickness, ensuring durability and appearance.
Inspect and touch up completed applications as needed.
General Duties
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reconditioning area.
Safely handle tools, equipment, and chemicals per company guidelines.
Follow all OSHA and environmental safety standards.
Communicate vehicle issues or concerns to the service or recon manager.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
1+ years of experience in auto body repair, detailing, or recon work preferred.
Experience with spray-on bedliner systems is a strong plus.
Familiarity with tools like buffers, sanders, and spray guns.
