Compensation



$25/hour (1099 Independent Contractor)

Monthly Store Volume Bonus (No Chargebacks):

$20 per retail vehicle delivered in the calendar month If the store delivers 60 retail vehicles in a month, bonus increases to $25 per vehicle for that month (+$5 per car). Bonus is paid once, on the 15th of the following month.

Eligibility:

Must be actively engaged and in good standing on the payout date (the 15th).

Definition:

"Delivered" = customer has taken delivery and the deal is recorded as delivered in the dealership system for that month. Retail only

Paid Vacation



Paid vacation eligibility begins after 18 months with House of Cars NJ (details reviewed during onboarding).

The Role



This is a high-impact, hybrid role that combines:

Front Desk / Reception

BDC support and follow-up (preferred)

Executive Assistant support to the General Manager


You'll be the "hub" of the dealership, helping manage customer flow, keeping communication organized, making sure tasks don't get dropped, and helping the GM keep deals, vendors, and operations moving.

The position requires consistent use of modern workplace tools for communication, documentation, and tracking. Strong computer skills and comfort with routine software are required (Microst Teams, Excel, Word).

1099 note:

This role is structured as a 1099 independent contractor position. Taxes are not withheld, and contractors are responsible for their own tax filings. Many candidates prefer this structure due to flexibility in how they manage income and tax planning (consult your tax professional).

ResponsibilitiesFront Desk & Customer Experience

Greet customers professionally and keep the showroom running smoothly Answer phones, route calls correctly, take accurate messages, and follow up when needed Maintain a clean, organized front desk and customer-ready environment
BDC Support (Preferred)

Support inbound calls and internet leads Schedule and confirm appointments, follow up on missed appointments Keep customer notes and information updated accurately in CRM/DMS
Executive Assistant Support to GM

Help the GM "close loops" across deals, customers, and internal priorities Track reminders, documents, signatures, and follow-ups--nothing falls through Coordinate with finance workflow as needed (documents, customer follow-up, organization) Communicate with vendors (software, phone systems, marketing partners, etc.) Support dealership improvement projects through organization and execution
Admin & Organization

Maintain key daily/weekly KPIs

(calls, leads, appointments set/shown, follow-ups completed, deliveries scheduled, deals in progress) and keep trackers accurate and up to date.

Schedule and confirm deliveries

and maintain the dealership calendar to ensure smooth handoffs and on-time delivery coordination.

Update daily logs/trackers

and communicate changes, priorities, and any potential issues to the GM and team so nothing falls through the cracks.
Requirements

Strong customer-facing experience

(dealership experience is a plus, but not required)

BDC experience is a plus

excellent phone skills, disciplined follow-up habits, and comfort handling leads/appointments

Highly organized, consistent, dependable, and detail-oriented Strong communication skills (phone, text, email) with a professional tone Able to prioritize and stay composed in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Discreet, trustworthy, and comfortable working directly with leadership Strong computer skills and comfort with routine business software (email, calendars, docs, basic spreadsheets)

Monday-Saturday (full-time) One Day off, One Half Day Sunday Business is closed Exact hours and day-off structure are finalized during the hiring process Punctuality and reliability are essential
