Job Summary

Kid Gloves is seeking a detail-oriented

Receiving Specialist

to support warehouse operations by receiving, inspecting, and processing furniture and other shipped items. This role is responsible for carefully opening incoming shipments, inspecting items for damage, documenting condition, entering inventory into company software, and properly storing items for future delivery. The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, and takes pride in accuracy and care when handling high-value goods.

Key Responsibilities

Receiving & Inspection:

Receive incoming furniture and miscellaneous items, carefully open packaging, and inspect all items for damage, defects, or discrepancies.

Damage Documentation:

Photograph all items upon receipt and accurately document any damage, shortages, or irregularities following company procedures.

Reporting & Communication:

Prepare clear and timely damage reports and communicate findings to operations staff and management.

Repackaging & Protection:

Repackage items using appropriate materials to ensure protection during storage and future handling.

Inventory Management:

Accurately enter item details, condition notes, and photographs into company inventory and logistics software.

Storage & Organization:

Label, stage, and store items in designated warehouse locations to ensure efficient retrieval and safe handling.

Quality Control:

Ensure all received items meet company standards for documentation, labeling, and storage before release for delivery.

Warehouse Coordination:

Work closely with warehouse staff and logistics coordinators to support inventory accuracy and outbound operations.

Qualifications & Skills

Experience in warehouse receiving, inventory control, or furniture handling preferred. Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify damage or defects. Comfortable using mobile devices, cameras, and computers for photography and data entry. Ability to follow standardized procedures and documentation requirements. Strong organizational skills and accountability. Ability to safely handle furniture and other large or fragile items. Team-oriented mindset with a focus on quality and care.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Warehouse-based position. Frequent lifting, moving, and handling of furniture and boxed items. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday. Regular use of mobile devices and inventory software.
