This position is located at MCCS MIRAMAR . Candidates selected for this position will serve as a Recreation Attendant for the Auto Skills Center department.



Major Duties



Receives and processes incoming tools and equipment. Responsible for receiving, transferring, storing, inventorying, identifying and issuing the full range of available items used by personnel and patrons.



Assists in inventories by counting items on hand, searching for missing items and taking recounts as necessary. Stores items in established locations and sets up specific locations for new items. Issues and receives facility tools, parts and equipment turned in and checks for any damaged or work conditions. Maintains all items in good order and working condition in accordance with safety regulations. May perform minor repair of simple equipment. Cleans and services supply items as required. Reports damaged or inoperable tools, parts and equipment to the supervisor. Complies with all fire, safety, security and environmental rules and regulations.



Provides oversight of activities and necessary services to authorized patrons, including general information on the use of equipment. Provides information concerning facilities and operation.

Ensures adherence to regulations and safety procedures. Monitors and checks the security of premises.



Provide exceptional customer service, and uphold high service standards using respect, courtesy, professionalism, and teamwork. Take initiative to solve problems quickly but recognize when to seek assistance to resolve issues. Collaborate in a professional, supportive, and proactive manner. Check for satisfaction with the quality of services provided.



Adhere to safety regulations and standards. Use required safety equipment and observe safe work procedures. Promptly report any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adhere to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.



This position requires the ability to work at other Semper Fit Department facilities as needed. Collateral Semper Fit work locations include but are not limited to other fitness centers, 50M Pool, Golf Course, Party/Adventure Recreational Center (PARC), Bob Hope Theater, etc. Cross training will be provided accordingly. Incumbent may be required to conduct transitions through Purchasing Operating Systems (RecTrac), operate a cash register, receive payments and make change. Hours for this position vary, and each work location will have differing shifts to include nights, weekends, and holidays. Shift differential pay will be appropriately applied. May assist in maintaining routine reports and/or perform clerical, custodial and/or general maintenance duties as needed



Perform other duties as assigned.



Qualifications



Six months' experience in the assigned recreational activity is desired. Skill to learn MCCS policies, rules and regulations involving the area, and ability to communicate orally and in writing. Knowledge of basic mathematics. This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance.
