The Software Products Engineering (SPE) organization develops software applications, including integration and test on missiles, launchers, radars, naval systems, fire control and other complex systems. Job Summary:

As a software engineer on the SPE Effectors team, you will be responsible for applying advanced technical expertise with C/C++ software development for embedded multi-processor systems, contributing to the development of new principles and concepts, resolving complex technical software problems, and providing innovative solutions. Work under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives. Assignments are often self-initiated and while supporting this role, you will determine and pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results. Follow or recommend changes to department processes and procedures and review software products for soundness of technical judgment and adequacy. Share guidance to support junior staff. Develop advanced technological ideas and guide their development into a final product. Utilize Agile software development methods for automation, and continuous integration. Serve as a team spokesperson on advanced projects and programs. Act as advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

Apply expertise in software development for embedded multi-processor systems.

Provide innovative and creative software solutions to complex technical problems.

Follow and/or recommend changes to established processes and procedures.

Review software products for soundness of technical judgment and adequacy.

Produce documentation related to the design and release of software artifacts.

Utilize agile software development methods, automation, and continuous integration.

Qualifications You Must Have:

Typically requires a Bachelor\'s degree and 8 years of relevant work experience OR in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant work experience is required.

Experience using C/C++ language

Experience developing, testing and/or integrating real-time software

Experience using embedded Real Time Operating systems (RTOSs) (e.g., Green Hills, Integrity, Wind River VxWorks, Linux, etc.)

Experience in technical leadership of small teams

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance prior to the start date. Only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Value:

Bachelor\'s degree in STEM field. (Preferred Degrees: Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science)

Practical experience with guidance, navigation, sensing, tracking, and discriminating systems and associated algorithms is highly desired.

Experience designing and architecting real-time embedded software on multi-core systems.

Experience with Agile Software development methods (e.g., Scrum, continuous integration, etc.)

Experience using scripting languages (e.g., Perl, Python).

Experience adapting Board Support Packages.
