Summary

: The Real Estate Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of real estate construction projects at Barnes & Thornburg LLP, from initial planning through execution and closeout. This role will work collaboratively with attorneys, staff, and leadership to create and maintain project plans, budgets, schedules, and documentation, ensuring proactive risk management throughout each project. The Real Estate Operations Manager will also manage the firm's real estate dashboards and facilities operations database, providing regular status updates and presentations for senior leadership. Success in this role requires strong project management, communication, and analytical skills, as well as attention to detail and the ability to proactively problem-solve.

Key Responsibilities:



Oversee the planning, execution, and closeout of real estate construction projects. Communicate regularly and effectively with attorneys, staff, and the Office Managing Partner regarding project progress and needs. Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, and progress reports. Identify potential project risks and proactively resolve issues as they arise. Prepare regular status updates and presentations for senior leadership. Manage project documentation, contracts, and financial records in coordination with internal teams. Maintain the Real Estate Dashboards to track key project metrics. Maintain the Facilities Operations Database to ensure accurate, up-to-date information. Other duties as assigned and required by the Chief of Staff or Office Managing Partner.

Qualifications:


Bachelor's degree in business, construction management, real estate, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in real estate operations, project management, or facilities management, preferably within a professional services or law firm environment. Demonstrated experience in managing multiple, complex projects simultaneously. Strong knowledge of budgeting, financial management, and project documentation processes. Excellent oral and written communication skills. High proficiency with project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar platforms). Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Must be willing to travel up to 10% of time for project meetings

Working Conditions:


Normal office environment. Occasional work on construction sites, exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like. Working while wearing PPE in certain conditions.
