Real Estate & Commercial Specialist I

Real Estate & Commercial Specialist I

will:
Be responsible for assisting with the monitoring of delinquency and performance of the real estate portfolio. Reports and complies with all secondary market procedures regarding loss mitigation, collections, and foreclosures through the online secondary market system. This role involves sending out state-required notices, coordinating inspections and maintenance, and securing and maintaining properties as necessary.

Roles & Responsibilities -

As part of our Asset Recovery team, you'll play a critical role in managing and protecting the Credit Union's real estate portfolio. Key responsibilities include:

Portfolio Oversight

: Monitor delinquency trends and overall performance of real estate assets.

Member Engagement

: Contact consumer and commercial members to understand delinquency causes and offer financial solutions with empathy and professionalism.

Loan Management

: Collaborate with mortgage servicing partners to manage both portfolio and secondary market loans.

Restructuring Support

: Assist borrowers with loan modifications to improve their financial standing and protect the Credit Union's interests.

Compliance & Communication

: Send timely, state-required notices to members regarding their loans.

Property Coordination

: Oversee inspections, maintenance, and repairs; approve related expenses within authority.

Loss Mitigation

: Request appraisals and title reports; support legal preparations for foreclosure in coordination with counsel.

REO Marketing

: Partner with realtors to market and manage real estate owned (REO) properties.

Regulatory Adherence

: Ensure all asset recovery procedures comply with federal and state regulations.

Reporting & Documentation

: Maintain accurate records and prepare performance reports using internal tools and software.

Cross-Functional Support

: Assist with repossessions, charge-offs, bankruptcy cases, and legal actions as needed.
