Position Overview:

Enfield High School is seeking a passionate and qualified Reading Teacher to join our dedicated team of educators. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in reading instruction and demonstrate a commitment to fostering literacy development for all students. This position requires expertise in evidence-based reading strategies and the ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.

Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality reading instruction aligned with CT Core Standards. Utilize best practices in literacy, including: + Explicit instruction in phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
+ Use of formative and summative assessments to guide instruction.
Collaborate with classroom teachers, interventionists, and support staff to ensure cohesive literacy support. Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instruction as needed. Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that promotes a love of reading.

Qualifications:

Valid CTDOE certification in Remedial Reading and Remedial Language Arts, 1-12 (102). Demonstrated knowledge of current research and best practices in reading instruction. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Experience working with diverse student populations preferred.
