Position Overview

Sansin America is seeking a Lab Tech with a passion for wood to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of essential technical support and contributing to the accuracy and efficiency of the team.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities

Learn and perform lab procedures, data analysis, and timely reporting of results Prepare formulations, materials, specimens, and conduct testing as per specifications. Evaluate raw materials and processes to ensure stability and compatibility Ensure all tests are completed and results meet all specifications Enter all inventory and batch data into the record system Adhere to all laboratory safety guidelines and procedures, including handling potentially hazardous substances. Test, identify and address non-conforming material according to specifications Create, maintain, and update standard operating procedures for Quality Control and Assurance Uphold the highest levels of confidentiality to protect confidential and proprietary information

Required Skills and Experience

2 years of lab experience in water-based coating formulation and applications. Open-minded, creative, and innovative with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Deep understanding of color theory, color systems and familiarity with color matching theory and instrumentation Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Understanding the practical aspects of laboratory & equipment safety - familiar with proper PPE, safety protocols, etc Ability to keep all trade secrets, patents, and proprietary information in the strictest confidence

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in chemistry or another related field (Chemical Engineer, Material Science) preferred, but will consider a combination of education and direct coatings industry experience.

Reliable form of transportation to get to and from work is a must Ability to lift at least 50 pounds Some travel required to offsite test fields Flexible and available to work extra hours if required

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
