Job Summary:

Located in Draper, Utah, Wasatch Product Development is a technically focused contract manufacturer of personal care, cosmetic, and liquid dietary supplement products. We are looking for a full-time junior formulation chemist to work in our Research & Development Department. This position will develop new products for customers based on customer requirements. The formulator will be exposed to developing a wide variety of products including skin care, hair care, dental care, sun care, and much more. To support your industry knowledge, this position will meet with raw material suppliers to stay up to date on the most recent technology and advancements in raw materials. Will also be exposed to stability testing and OTC testing.

Job Functions:

1. Maintain inventory of raw material samples.

2. Develop new theoretical formulas and make lab batches.

3. Prepare samples for customer presentation.

4. Prepare samples for stability testing.

5. Maintain accurate records of lab batches.

6. Write manufacturing procedures for scale up to production.

7. Calibrate and maintain lab equipment.

8. Follow detailed, technical instructions for making batches.

9. Perform general lab duties to keep the R&D lab clean, organized and prepared for customer tours at all times.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in science field.

2. 1 - 3 years of science-related lab experience preferred but not required.

3. Experience with common formulation laboratory test instruments and methods including viscometer, pH meter, mixing equipment, centrifuge, specific gravity, etc.

4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

5. Computer experience including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

6. Ability to work on individual assignments and as a team player.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
