Our core values are at the center of every decision we make: Every Person Matters Together We Can Do Great Things This Is More Than a Job Job Summary The Ranch Manager is Responsible for managing all activities concerned with ranch operation to include personnel management, land and property management, cattle and hunting operations, and guest services. Essential Functions

  • Provides leadership and direction on day-to-day basis on the operation of the ranch to all ranch staff.
  • Hires and supervises ranch workers. Trains and observes workers in job duties and safety precautions.
  • Exercises close attention over employer-employee relations, employee morale and safety.
  • Establishes and leads safety culture.
  • Full responsibility of all ranch property/premises and infrastructure.
  • Ensures the maintenance of buildings and equipment and may perform maintenance and repair work as required.
  • Responsible for office management including file retention, invoice payments and purchase receipt submittals.
  • Performs and oversees land maintenance activities for all types of vegetation on ranch property, including the use of herbicides, pesticides, and fertilizer usage applications.
  • Performs and oversees road maintenance activities for all roads on ranch property.
  • Assists with the development of an annual operating budget and executing services within approved budget parameters.
  • Responsible for purchasing and maintaining acceptable levels of inventory for ranch consumables.
  • Identifies, schedules, and monitors all services being provided by outside contractors on ranch property.
  • Responsible for regular representation and interaction with Border Patrol & U.S. Customs as necessary to ensure the safety of ranch personnel/guests.
  • Assists with the coordination of Zachry security personnel during guests visits.
  • Interacts and assists all ranch guests and customers.
  • Oversees and manages the ranch s cattle operation which includes feeding, mineral dispersal, water provisions and animal health.
  • Performs and oversees fertilization, irrigation and harvesting of grasses for hay production and cattle consumption.
  • Responsible for understanding and managing ranch hunting operation.
  • Responsible for maintenance and care of hunting blinds, feeders, overhead elevators, feed wagon and hunting areas.

  • At least five years experience with rural property management.
  • Candidate must be able to pass an initial, as well as periodic, drug screening and background checks.
  • Must have a valid driver s license.
  • Must have the ability to work in and around different bodies of water.
  • Must be capable of trouble-shooting unexpected problems with the ability to formulate a plan quickly to correct the situation as needed.
  • Basic computer skills are required.

Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee will generally be outside in a ranch environment and will be frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and all outside weather conditions. The employee may occasionally be exposed to chemicals, solvents, fumes, grease, and fuels and will be expected to handle them safely. Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
  • Ability to push and pull up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
  • Ability to perform tasks on rough, uneven surfaces and terrain.
  • Requires full range of body motion including frequent sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, carrying, pushing, pulling, balancing, climbing ladder and stairs, bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, crawling, reaching, handling, and grasping.
  • Requires the ability to stand, sit, kneel, climb, or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work outside up to 100% of the time.
  • Ability to work in and around water at various levels.
