We\'re growing rapidly and we\'re seeking motivated, customer oriented, passionate coworkers to join us. We\'re currently seeking a Radiology Technologist working day shift M-F on a PRN basis for Ascentist Hospital and outpatient clinics, primarily focused in Leawood, KS.

Our Radiology Technologists perform a variety of technical tasks involved in operating radiographic equipment and making radiographs of designated anatomical structures of the body. They provide prompt, courteous, and quality care to every patient requiring our services, keeping in mind to preserve the patient\'s dignity and rights to confidentiality, according to HIPAA guidelines.

Essential Functions:
  • Adjust equipment for proper radiographic exposure techniques in accordance with radiation safety guidelines, (ALARA) as low as reasonably achievable.
  • Position patients for each anatomical view using immobilization and protective equipment as necessary.
  • Accurately process images for optimal quality, demonstrating acceptable film quality standards by critiquing positioning, technical factors, and collimation.
  • Assists the hospital and clinical staff with care of the patient.
  • Promotes the mission, vision and values of the organization.
  • Verifies that equipment functions properly, requisitions for equipment maintenance, repair or replacement; and removes defective equipment.
  • Adheres to guidelines for infection control and maintains a safe, clean and orderly environment.
  • Assists with maintenance of supplies and equipment.
  • Maintains established hospital and/or clinical policies and procedures.
  • Develops and maintains an effective working relationship with patients, families, visitors and other employees.
  • Documents concisely, precisely and accurately on all records or documents as indicated by policy
  • Responds quickly, physically and mentally when priorities and/or the patient\'s condition changes
  • Ensures regular, physical attendance on a predictable basis
  • Maintains confidentiality of patient and hospital related business
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualfied candidates will:
  • Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Possess a Kansas Radiology license from the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts (KSBHA)
  • Be an ARRT registered RadiologicTechnologist from an accredited radiology program
Other qualifications include:
  • Must comply with all regulatory requirements including OSHA, HIPAA, Ascentist Policies and Procedures and Ascentist Employee Handbook
  • Demonstrated ability to function independently without constant supervision and effectively perform Radiology Technician essential functions
  • Knowledge of and ability to monitor gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure medical equipment is working properly
  • Demonstrates proven communication skills with the ability to convey written and verbal information accurately and effectively
  • Demonstrates effective listening skills, taking the time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate and refraining from interrupting until appropriate
  • Ability to read and legibly write, communicate appropriately and effectively, understand and execute instructions as needed and visually distinguish color.
  • Demonstrated ability to use problem-solving and conflict resolution skills to foster effective work relationships with team members.
  • Experience with and ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Proven record in attendance with ability to demonstrate reliability and dependability in prior roles
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
  • Demonstrates effective time management with the ability to plan and organize work, adjust schedule and duties as requested and work overtime as needed
  • Demonstrates a high level of motivation, accountability, and ownership,
  • Demonstrates discretion and excellent judgment with the ability to solve problems creatively
  • Demonstrates friendly, personal, and timely customer service skills
  • Demonstrates proficiency using Microsoft Outlook and/or Gmail
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use general office equipment including phones, fax machines, copiers, and other similar office technology on a regular basis
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail in an ever-changing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality in performance of essential functions
  • Demonstrated ability to speak, read, write, and understand English
  • Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check, medical screening and required education and employment screenings
  • Understanding of and ability to comply with all regulatory requirements including OSHA, HIPAA, Ascentist Policies and Procedures and Ascentist Employee Handbook
Desirable qualifications include:
  • Minimum of one year experience performing substantially similar essential functions preferred
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Physical Demands/Working Condition

Working Conditions:
  • Exposure to blood and body fluids, communicable diseases, chemicals, radiation and repetitive motions; Category 1-Occupational exposure.
Physical Demands:
  • Physical demands typical for radiologic technologist occupation.
  • Full range of body motion including crouching, stooping, reaching, bending, twisting, handling and lifting patients.
  • Frequently lift, pull and push the weight of the average patient with assistance of one other person up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual and finger dexterity; hand eye coordination; standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
  • The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.
  • The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
