Primary reporting location: Paramus, NJ May be required to float to nearby offices (Montvale, Franklin Lakes, North Bergen) to cover planned/unplanned PTO or support high-volume days

Job Summary

The Radiologic Technologist I performs diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level that does not require constant supervision. This role is responsible for producing high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and adherence to departmental policies and professional standards.

Essential Job Functions

Produce diagnostic radiographic examinations by positioning patients, selecting appropriate technical factors, and operating imaging equipment. Utilize immobilization devices and modify techniques based on individual patient needs. Restrict radiation exposure through proper collimation and beam limitation techniques. Perform portable radiographic examinations in patient rooms, operating rooms, and emergency settings. Accurately identify and label images with patient information, exam details, and anatomical markers. Process exposed x-ray films using available processing methods. Complete patient requisitions with required documentation, including initials, date, and film details. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the x-ray room per departmental standards. Prepare radiopaque contrast media and assist physicians with administration as needed. Perform administrative duties such as scheduling, patient instruction, record maintenance, film filing, and patient reception. Assist patients with mobility needs including positioning, transfers, and table access. Meet physical requirements including prolonged standing and lifting, pushing, or pulling equipment as required. Adapt care delivery to meet the needs of diverse patient populations, including age, culture, language, and sensory or physical impairments. Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and staff at an appropriate developmental and educational level. Adhere to organizational competencies, departmental policies, and safety standards.

Education & Training

Required Education:

High school diploma or equivalent Completion of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program Completion of required clinical education and ARRT requirements

Licensure & Certifications

Active

New Jersey State Radiologic Technologist License

(required) Eligible for and able to pass the

ARRT National Registry Examination
