Position Overview:




As the

Radiology Assistant

at OrthoArkansas, you'll play a vital role in ensuring patients receive the imaging services they need in a timely and compassionate manner. From warmly greeting patients to expertly coordinating MRIs and CTs, this position supports a smooth and efficient patient experience. You'll collaborate with clinical and imaging teams to deliver exceptional care and service while ensuring accuracy in scheduling, documentation, and communication.

Key Responsibilities:



Patient Interaction

+ Greet every patient with a warm and friendly smile.
+ Manage check-ins and check-outs with accuracy and professionalism.
+ Assist patients with dressing changes as needed.
+ Help patients in and out of wheelchairs and ensure they are comfortable and informed.

Scheduling & Coordination

+ Coordinate and schedule MRIs, CTs, and follow-up appointments.
+ Make Health Note calls and assist patients in completing their questionnaires.
+ Contact patients with appointment confirmations and instructions.
+ Notify referring physicians once appointments are scheduled.

Insurance & Referrals

+ Verify insurance authorizations for MRIs and CTs.
+ Communicate with the pre-certification team to confirm coverage.
+ Ensure referrals are on file as needed for appointments.

Documentation & Administrative Support

+ Collect and process copays and balance TOS money daily.
+ Maintain accurate patient records and demographic data in the EMR.
+ Transfer images to and from PACS.
+ Provide patients with and assist them in completing necessary paperwork.

Imaging Preparation & Assistance

+ Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process and addressing concerns.
+ Maintain a clean and organized imaging environment.
+ Collaborate with the imaging team and clinical staff for seamless care coordination.

Additional Duties

+ Perform other related duties as assigned to support smooth clinic operations.
+ Stay current with imaging techniques, safety protocols, and equipment use.

Qualifications:



Education & Experience:

+ High school diploma or GED required.
+ 6 to 12 months of experience in a healthcare or imaging environment preferred.
+ Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology preferred.

Skills & Abilities:

+ Excellent communication and customer service skills.
+ Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
+ Strong organizational skills with a compassionate and professional demeanor.
