Job Summary and Qualifications
  • Administer radiation therapy treatments to patients.
  • Verify prescribed treatment dose before treatment, verify fields to be treated and angles to be used.
  • Assure placement of protective devices in order to shield otherwise healthy exposed tissue of patients
  • Place and immobilize patient to ensure accurate treatment. Maintain constant visual and intercom contact with the patient during treatment to assure patient remains in the proper position
  • Observe patient for unusual reaction and report any abnormal conditions to the radiation oncologist.
  • Chart treatment details in the patient\xe2\x80\x99s medical record.
  • Provides verification films on each patient treated.
  • Check treatment records daily and weekly for mathematical or documentation error.
  • Provides appropriate teaching to patients and families.
What qualifications you will need:

EDUCATION
  • Required:Graduate of an accredited school of radiation therapy technology Certification in Radiation Therapy
  • Technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist.
  • Preferred: BS degree in related field.
LICENSURE:
  • Required: ARRT Board eligible and participates in professional society.
  • Required: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider
  • Preferred: Board certified
EXPERIENCE:
  • Preferred: Two years clinical experience in similar department.
