Summary
The Quality & Safety Supervisor is a dual-role position responsible for overseeing both quality assurance and safety compliance within our automotive operations. This role ensures that all vehicles, processes, and facilities meet OEM, regulatory, and internal standards, while actively promoting and enforcing a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. The Quality & Safety Supervisor leads initiatives that prevent defects, reduce risk, and protect team members, ensuring that operational excellence and workplace safety are achieved.
Responsibilities
Develop and Enforce Quality & Safety Policies: Create, implement, and monitor quality control and safety procedures to ensure all products, operations, and work practices meet OEM standards, regulatory requirements, and company expectations
ISO & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with ISO standards (including ISO 9001, 45001) and all workplace safety regulations
Prepare for and lead both ISO and safety audits, including documentation and corrective action planning
Maintain the Quality Management System (QMS): Develop, implement, and maintain the QMS, ensuring all documentation, process controls, and change management are current, accurate, and ISO compliant
Conduct Inspections, Tests & Safety Observations: Plan and oversee inspections, testing, and process audits to ensure product conformity and safe work practices
Utilize statistical tools and audit checklists to monitor compliance
Analyze Quality & Safety Data: Collect and analyze inspection results, defect trends, near-miss data, and incident reports to identify root causes
Develop and recommend corrective and preventive actions
Lead Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Drive quality and safety improvement projects by identifying opportunities, implementing countermeasures, and verifying the effectiveness of corrective actions
Compliance and Documentation Control: Ensure all quality and safety processes meet applicable standards. Maintain complete documentation of inspections, test results, safety reports, incident findings, and corrective actions
Vendor and Supply Chain Quality Oversight: Qualify and evaluate suppliers; conduct regular supplier audits to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and ISO requirements; and collaborate with vendors to resolve quality and safety issues.
Respond to customer quality concerns by investigating issues and driving corrective actions to resolution
Train employees and managers on quality standards, ISO procedures, and proper documentation practices
Prepare and present quality performance and ISO compliance reports, identifying trends and improvement needs
Analyze quality data and report trends using GPQMS / GPMS / iVeles systems
Perform vehicle defect audits and capability audits to verify process and product conformity
Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures compliant with OSHA, DOT, and other applicable regulations
Conduct facility safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards
Lead investigations of incidents, near-misses, and accidents, ensuring timely corrective and preventive actions
Provide safety training and coaching, including PPE use, safe work practices, and hazard recognition
Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety (EHS) regulations and maintain documentation for regulatory agencies
Facilitate port stop-sale campaigns by coordinating workflow, maintaining required documentation and reporting, and ensuring follow-through to full completion.

Education & Experience
HS Diploma/GED Degree Required
Bachelor's Degree Preferred
5 - 8 Years of Direct Experience in Quality Control and ISO, Safety/EHS/OSHA Required
6 - 9 Years of Direct Experience Preferred
Valid Driver's License Required
