Position Summary





U.S. Nameplate Co. is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Manager to lead and oversee all quality assurance and quality control activities within our manufacturing operations. The Quality Manager will ensure products meet or exceed customer expectations and industry standards by maintaining a robust quality management system (QMS) aligned with ISO 9001:2015 requirements. This role requires strong technical expertise, hands-on leadership, and demonstrated experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation, and First Article Inspections (FAIs).


Key Responsibilities




Quality Leadership & Oversight




Manage and continuously improve the company's ISO 9001:2015-compliant quality management system. Lead internal and external audits; coordinate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Develop, implement, and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, and policies. Drive a culture of quality throughout the organization through strong communication and best-practice methodologies.

Inspection & Measurement




Oversee inspection processes and ensure proper use of measurement tools and equipment. Program, operate, and train personnel on CMM equipment for precision inspection and validation of parts. Review and approve inspection reports, measurement data, and dimensional layouts.

PPAP & FAI Management




Lead and coordinate the creation, submission, and maintenance of PPAP documentation for customer approvals. Conduct and oversee First Article Inspections (FAIs) per customer and regulatory requirements. Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with customer specifications.

Customer & Supplier Quality




Serve as the primary point of contact for customer quality concerns and inquiries. Investigate root causes of quality issues and develop effective corrective actions. Evaluate and monitor supplier performance; support supplier quality audits when necessary.

Team Management & Training




Supervise quality inspectors and related staff; assign tasks and manage daily workflow. Provide training on quality standards, inspection tools, documentation, and best practices. Support cross-functional teams to ensure quality is integrated into all aspects of production.

Qualifications




Education & Experience




Quality Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing quality management. Hands-on experience with CMM inspection and programming (PC-DMIS, Zeiss Calypso, or similar). Demonstrated knowledge and implementation experience with ISO 9001:2015. Strong working knowledge of PPAP, FAI, control plans, and other automotive/aerospace quality tools.

Skills & Competencies




Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills (e.g., 5 Why, Fishbone diagrams). Excellent written and verbal communication, including report writing. Proficient with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, etc.). Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing). Leadership skills with the ability to motivate, train, and develop team members. High attention to detail and commitment to quality performance.

Working Conditions




Office and manufacturing environment. Exposure to production equipment, noise, and measurement tools. Ability to stand, walk, or inspect parts for extended periods.
