Advanced Inspection Services (AIS) is looking for entry level or experienced individuals to join our Metrology team. As a Quality Inspector you will be responsible for the proper application of software and equipment resulting in accurate and repeatable measurement data. You will uphold AISs' policy to achieve and maintain the highest standard of contract inspection services. Previous experience in metrology / OGP/ PC-DMIS/ measurement and quality control is also highly valued.
What you'll do
Regular & consistent attendance
Inspect complex parts against customer specifications using Video based inspection systems (VMM), Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), Surface Finish and Form Analysis systems, CT scanning systems and various handheld measurement devices
Write programs to inspect parts on VMM and CMM systems
Compile inspection data and complete inspection reports
Evaluate results to ensure accuracy and repeatability
Record time and equipment used on all inspection jobs
Interface with customers regarding inspection of customer supplied components
Some travel to customer sites may be required
Other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of metrology
Experience with proper handling, storage, and use of inspection hand tools and gaging equipment (calipers, micrometers, gage blocks, pin gages, height stands, etc.)
Knowledge and experience with ISO 17025 quality system
Experience working with Vision and/or CMM's
In your role as an AIS Quality Technician, your experience, knowledge and proficiency in general metrology practices will be enhanced thru training such as:
Metrology Boot Camp course
General metrology courses (offered by PQI)
Mitutoyo Surface & Form software usage
GD&T Level I Blueprint Reading course
GD&T Level II Basic GD&T course
AIS's ISO 17025 quality system
Use of ERP to document work and transact customer parts
Handling of customer product
Vision and/or CMM programming classes as per management direction
Continual ongoing job specific training
Troubleshoot and problems solve most problems encountered during a workday
Introduction to other specialties (portable CMMs, scanning, etc) as directed by management and needs of the lab
ASQ CQT primer course and exam (if required)
Physical Demands:
Must be able to meet physical demands to perform essential functions of the job: sit and/or stand for 30 plus minutes, lift items to a height of three to four feet and / or move items up to 30 pounds (with assistance)
The hours for this position are either 7:00 am to 3:30 pm or 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday with a thirty-minute unpaid lunch. Salary is based on experience
