Job Description

SUMMARY:
As a part of the Audit Laboratory, the Quality Control Technician is responsible for quality testing and reporting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for performing tasks related to quality control Extensive hands-on work in lab environment, processing test samples Accurately follow procedures and perform the required analytical testing Ability & knowledge of safely handling of laboratory chemicals and materials including sulfuric acid, nitric acid, hydrochloric acid, boric acid, and hydrofluoric acid Record and summarize test data and observations in approved digital format. Format computer spreadsheet and provides other computerized documentation of lab experiments and results Maintain laboratory notebook Receives training on operating specialized equipment (ICP, BET, etc.) and may be responsible to operate and report equipment issues Ability to troubleshoot laboratory equipment
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

2 years, or more, laboratory experience preferred Familiarity with the properties and safe handling of various strong acids Associate's degree in science related field preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENT:

Steady hands and dexterity to perform tasks repeatedly and accurately Work performed in laboratory environment with potential exposure to hazardous materials Work requires repetitive motion of arms/hands, standing for prolonged period, performing frequent bending and twisting motions, which may potentially result in musculoskeletal stress
