These services ensure the continued essential automation, mechanization of retail and bulk processing equipment used in mail processing and retail installations across the entire country.

Peraton is seeking a
Quality Control Inspector
to join our team of diverse, qualified individuals.
The
Quality Control Inspector
works at the United States Postal Service (USPS) Central Repair Facility (CRF) in Topeka, KS. The CRF is a depot repair facility for USPS mail processing, delivery, and bulk mail systems repairable parts. Examples: repairing printed circuit boards, electrical, electronic, mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies to component level. The CRF provides depot level maintenance for essential automation, mechanization, retail and bulk mail processing systems used in all mail processing and retail installations.
Our
Quality Control Inspector
verifies and documents a product's degree of conformance or non-conformance with applicable specifications or drawings. Performs inspections on mechanical, electrical, and electronic components and assemblies. Specific tasks include:
Performs receiving, incoming, in-process, final, and packing inspections using applicable work instruction, checklists, drawings and specifications
Verifies functional tests using approved procedures
Maintains records of observations and measurements using designated tags, travelers, and forms
Inputs information for electronic material review board (MRB)
Certifies special tools and tooling used, as inspection and test media
Assists in the maintenance of quality control specification and record files
Maintains, logs, and assists in the analysis of data regarding failed individual end items
Initiates reports and keep records according to job requirements
Uses drawings or component layouts to identify part location on end items
Performs other related tasks as assigned

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent. Formal training with two years' related experience or four years' related experience in lieu of formal training
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
U.S. Citizenship required (Must have resided in the U.S. for the past five years with no more than six months travel outside the U.S. during this timeframe)
Proficiency using windows based applications and software (Microsoft Office)
Basic typing skills are necessary
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Understand soldering principles, general test equipment, and IPC repair criteria
Must have a basic understanding of electromechanical assemblies and electronic equipment configurations to verify conformance to drawing or standards
Proficiency in inspecting items to technical specifications
Proficiency in identifying discrepancies per standards and express findings in writing
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Ability to stand on feet for long durations
Ability to perform a variety of assembly tasks requiring dexterity and fine motor skills
Must be able to perform inspections in the various work areas
Preferred Qualifications
ASQ CQI or similar certification
J-STD-001 certification
Physical Requirements:
Heavy work exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
Physical activity may include kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and r epetitive motion
The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as viewing a computer terminal
Visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection)

Target Salary Range: The rate / range per hour below represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
