Serves as a member of a Business Unit Support Team, providing technical Quality Assurance (QA) assistance and support to production teams and engineering. Implements Centro's Quality System and procedures within the Business Unit, including product, process and system auditing, problem solving, suggesting and implementing improvements, and responding to Associate and Customer inquiries. Coaches and trains production team members in the Centro Quality System (QSP) procedures and quality skills as appropriate. Through assigned responsibilities and tasks, helps implement and improve production team quality skill development, Quality System implementation in all Business Unit production, prevention of product rework and scrap, and total customer satisfaction.

The Quality Assurance Technician audits product and processes to assure quality. Centro and our customers rely heavily on the audit results generated by the Quality Assurance Technician to know that our processes are producing products that meet their needs and stated requirements. Equally as important, Centro and our customers rely on the Quality Assurance Technician to know that if results are not as they should be, that appropriate action is taken and that nonconforming product is precluded from use. In addition to auditing and monitoring product and processes, the Quality Assurance Technician is looked upon as a leader and role model in their knowledge, abilities, professional approach, and their willingness to teach and coach others in quality skills. It takes the strong performance of each Quality Assurance Technician in all facets of their position to assist Centro in achieving our stretch goals in our strategic plan and our quality objectives.
III. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Implements Centro's Quality System. Reports and documents nonconforming product, processes, and systems as directed by procedure and informs the Quality Assurance Leader as appropriate.
Responds to production team, engineering, or General/Operations Manager requests for technical quality assistance and to any emergency quality tasks as necessary to maintain production operations.
Assists in the training of production team members in the Centro Quality System and quality skills as assigned.
Assists production teams and engineering teams by doing the following:
+ Product, process, and system audits and documentation as assigned.
+ Evaluation of parts on hold to determine disposition.
+ Studies of weight, wall thickness, and suitability of accessories.
+ Impact testing for cure verification.
+ Calibration of tools and machines.
+ Creation of nominal wall maps and Product Summary Report (PSR) illustrations.
+ Use SPC and ultrasound transfer software programs.
+ Incoming receiving inspection for resin and accessories as assigned. Provides information to the production team on the conforming status of product to help them decide when to discontinue a machine or finishing processes for process adjustments. Provides technical advice to production teams regarding potential solutions and assists in implementing corrective action.
Performs duties and fulfills responsibilities in accordance with those defined in Centro's Quality System including but not limited to those described in QSP's 8242, 8244, 7435, 7600, 8300, 8301, 8530, and 8531.
Maintains clean and orderly work areas and keeps tools calibrated and in good working condition.
Complies with all OSHA and Centro safety requirements, including Hazard communication standards and material safety data sheets. Uses all required and needed safety equipment and personal protective devices and maintains safety devices in place.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal relations, listening skills, organizational abilities, and project management coordination and completion skills are required.
Ability to work within and foster a team environment and relate well with internal customers is required.
Knowledge of Centro's product, customers, and manufacturing and finishing operations highly desired.
Must be able to analyze facts, evaluate unique situations, and exercise discretion to determine the most appropriate action plan and/or work sequence or method to perform job tasks effectively.

Must achieve the competencies defined in Centro's Quality System in order to become, and continue to be qualified for this position.
IV. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
High school diploma or GED required. Ability and desire to learn and apply quality techniques is required. Relevant degrees from accredited universities and certifications from professional associations such as the American Society for Quality (ASQ) or the American Society of Manufacturing Engineers (ASME) are preferred.
ASQ certifications for Quality Technician, Mechanical Inspector or Quality Engineer is highly encouraged.
Two years of manufacturing experience, including one year of Centro production experience, is preferred.
Knowledge of Centro's products and manufacturing operations is required. A basic knowledge of Centro's Quality System and ISO 9000 requirements is required. Knowledge of algebra, geometry, and statistics is highly preferred.
Excellent organizational and analytical skills, orientation to detail, and the ability to complete work in a timely fashion is required. Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to relate well with Associates and customers required.
Must be able to see, read, write, speak and hear sufficiently for effective interpersonal
communications. Must be able to receive and understand detailed instructions and information, judge depth, distinguish colors and variances, and apply logical and mathematical concepts to work assignments.
Commitment to quality, continuous improvement, total customer satisfaction, teamwork, safety, prevention of scrap and rework, productivity, positive interpersonal relations, workplace cleanliness, and punctual attendance is required.
Ability to use quality assurance tools and equipment, including calculator, hand and band saws, height gauge, drop tester, calipers, scale, ultra sound thickness gauge, and common office equipment is required. Ability to use computer and applicable software, including quality assurance and SPC programs required.

VI. Work Environment and Schedule
Work will be performed in a manufacturing environment with access to dedicated QA/engineering workstations. Temperature range between 50-110 degrees F. Will be assigned to a specific shift, but actual work schedule will be in response to production team, production, and customer needs as confirmed by the QA Team Leader.
