Job Description

The Sunvair Aerospace Group, headquartered in Owasso, OK, is a leading provider of aerospace MRO services specializing in landing gear and hydraulic component overhaul, avionics, HVOF, and cargo systems. We are seeking a high-energy, results-driven, and detail-oriented professional to join our team as the Quality Assurance Manager to join our facility in Reno, NV. The Quality Assurance Manager manages the execution of quality assurance system and leads a team responsible for quality Assurance and quality Control within an aerospace repair station (FAA Part 145) environment. The Quality Manager sets objectives and guides their team to achieve short-term quality goals and the implementation of long-term quality improvements. The ideal candidate has strong experience with AS9100, combining Quality Engineering thinking with hands-on leadership.

Key Responsibilities:



Serves as the Quality Assurance Manager for the domestic repair station certificated under 14 CFR Part 145. Serves as point of contact for all regulatory agencies, including the FAA, EASA and the UK CAA. Manages on-site regulatory and internal audits. Manages regulatory documentation such as the Repair Station Manual / Quality Assurance Manual, EASA and UK CAA Supplements and AS9110 Quality Manual, systems and forms. Manages the document control system including component maintenance manuals. Manages equipment and consumable supply equivalency documentation. Ensures work is performed correctly to approved technical manuals. Manages calibration of test equipment. Ensures quality standards are upheld. Conducts process improvement events and implement best practices. Reports or corrects and unsafe condition and practices. Communicates effectively with supervisors, peers, and others.

Required Qualifications:



BS or BA degree or an equivalent level of experience in an MRO environment. 5+ years managing quality systems in an aerospace environment. Appropriately certificated, or eligible for certification under 14 CFR FAR Part 65. Demonstrated experience managing quality projects with cross-functional teams. Strong professional customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service and follow-up. Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work with all levels of Management & Supervisors. Ability to understand and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to understand and interpret & technically discuss drawings, specifications, regulations applicable to the job. Problem solving skills using Quality Assurance industry techniques, tools & resources. Ability to generate routine reports and correspondence.

Preferred Qualifications:



Quality experience as it relates to FAA Part 145 Repair Stations and correspondence with a local FAA FSDO office. Knowledge of ISO 9000 quality system requirements and internal audit policies and procedures. AS9100D Lead Auditor Certification preferred.

Pay: $115,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
