Summary:
Responsible for performing the inspection duties with general supervision verifying product/documentation meets specification for dimensions, quality and appearance.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Ensure that products comply with the requirements of the quality management system;
- Interpret customer specifications and standards;
- Understand and apply inspection procedures/work instructions;
- Apply geometric tolerancing;
- Use all inspection equipment including CMM;
- Perform all basic inspection setups;
- Perform first piece verifications and lot samples
- Monitor in-process adherence to specifications;
- Advise management/operations on all dimensional and cosmetic deficiencies;
- Convey, in writing and/or verbally, the condition of the parts being inspected;
- Coordinate calibration duties as assigned in accordance with procedures or instructions;
- Coordinate with Purchasing for subcontracting and processing to outside suppliers;
- Assures customer requirements are satisfied through the Quality System documentation;
- Performs administrative duties consistent with departmental practices;
Requirements:
Skills and Experience:
Incumbent must have a minimum of high school diploma or equivalent. One (1) year experience as a Quality Inspector or one (1) year experience as a machinist. Must be able to interpret blueprints and use appropriate inspection equipment.
