BAE Systems is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Quality Assurance Analyst who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. In this role, you will drive quality actions to ensure compliance and continuous improvement in order to meet or exceed all regulatory and customer requirements and expectations.

The team assists in ensuring that our products and assemblies comply with regulatory procedures that support the build and test of highly reliable defense electronics products. You will be involved in products and processes as they develop and mature, work closely with key internal stakeholders on continuous improvements and will learn the key data systems and data analytics that control a modern production facility.

You will have the opportunity to work both independent assignments and work cross functionally across Operations, Quality and Program teams.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the verification of hardware versus drawing requirements via the First Article Inspection and Production Process Verification
  • Supporting Operations in meeting or exceeding AS9100 requirements and performing assessments of Compliance in the production setting
  • Perform internal audits
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and forms relevant to the Quality Management System
  • Working in teams to support the results of audit finding and to identify Root Cause of process variability
  • Learning software systems and gaining sufficient proficiency to help train others and to identify best practices
  • Manage and respond to quality assurance issues from internal groups such as Production, Procurement, Contracts, Suppliers and Logistics
  • Establish, maintain and follow-up on Corrective Action/Preventative Action reports with various manufacturing departments Production, Procurement, Contracts, Suppliers and Logistics
  • Provide effective communication and reporting of performance regarding quality issues, objectives, initiatives, performance indicators and resolution
  • Develop and manage quality assurance metrics for performance improvement of manufacturing partners and items specification
  • Collects, organizes, monitors, and distributes information related to quality and process improvement function
Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in St. Mary\'s County, near to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.

There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary\'s County, Maryland or surrounding areas.

Required Skills and Education

Associate or Bachelor\'s degree in a technical field, such as Industrial or Quality Engineering, Data Analytics or a related field and experience in manufacturing highly recommended, or equivalent experience
Proficiency with internal auditing and AS9100/ISO 9001 standards
Ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints basic understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn other tools to perform work and help others gain proficiency
Knowledge of problem solving tools such as 8D, A3, Fishbone diagrams, 5 Whys, etc.
Knowledge of industry standards such as IPC and J-STD
Interest in looking at the wide scope of a project and the related opportunities for mistake proofing, safety improvements, cost reduction, etc.
