Summary The QA Technologist will be responsible for inspection, analysis and verification of incoming raw

products, work in process (WIP) products and finished goods by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Follow all Redbarn policies and procedures.
  • Perform product inspections during the receiving and production process.
  • Report any issues or irregularities to the QA Supervisor and QA Manager.
  • Monitor and maintain calibration of all QA lab equipment.
  • Monitor and maintain validation of scales and metal detectors.
  • Perform audits .
  • Prepare samples for submission to micro lab.
  • Adhere to FDA and USDA rules and regulations.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Previous work experience a plus. Associate degree or some college with direct quality experience preferred

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure

manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of

customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and

decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic knowledge of Internet software; Spreadsheet

software and Word Processing software.

Other Skills and Abilities

Understanding of lab practices.

Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.

Time management skills.

Other Qualifications

Must have good organization, verbal and written communication skills and be able to work well within a team

environment.

Ability to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed.
