QA SPECIALIST JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for supporting Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) providers, local providers, potential providers, and Summit DD staff related to compliance, as well as, completing DODD provider compliance reviews, and internal accreditation preparation. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Evaluation of this position is based primarily on performance of the following essential functions, which include, but are not limited to: 1. Conducts provider compliance reviews in accordance with applicable requirements and meets with other ISP team members as appropriate in order to coordinate and facilitate the quality assurance process across environments. 2. Reviews documentation, ISPs and other associated information and conducts interviews per the review protocol to ensure compliance with applicable standards. Provides technical assistance regarding adhering to regulatory requirements. 3. Conducts site visits to locations where services are provided. 4. Identifies areas of concern regarding health, safety and/or quality of services and supports based upon direct observation, interviews, reviews of documentation and solicitation of feedback from appropriate advocates. 5. Participates in interdisciplinary meetings to discuss areas of concern and make recommendations for improvements as needed. 6. Conducts provider training to enhance services and supports and to educate provider on federal, and state, and local standards as needed. 7. Identifies trends and patterns in consumer outcomes and recommends systematic process changes to improve health, safety and welfare of individuals served. 8. Reports any concerns needing immediate attention (i.e., health, safety, or rights violations) or possible MUI\'s per applicable requirements. 9. Completes required reports in a timely manner; communicates results of review/monitoring activities and provides feedback to appropriate persons as directed. 10. Follows established department procedures for scheduling, report writing, review tracking, data entry of report data/information, and maintaining review documents and timelines. 11. Meets other record keeping requirements as required by Summit DD and DODD. 12. Demonstrates ongoing understanding of the services being reviewed, the rules which impact/govern that programming. 13. Must follow safety and health rules and regulations, including, but not limited to, OSHA standards. 14. Regular attendance is an essential function of this position. 15. Performs other related duties as assigned. Education: BA degree in Special Education, Psychology, Social Work or a related field. Experience: Three years of verifiable paid experience as a service provider administrator or service coordinator in the DD system. Demonstrated ability to identify and evaluate service needs per applicable requirements. Background in providing direct services preferred. Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database programs. Use mathematics to solve problems. Obtain and use equipment, facilities, and materials required to perform work. Operate job related equipment including the use of basic computer programs and systems. Do data entry, generate reports, copy, manage and track documents and information. Certifications: DODD Service and Support Administrator and Compliance Review Training. KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND OTHER EXPECTATIONS: Knowledge: Must have excellent verbal/written communication skills. Reading skills with the ability to read and understand service documentation and DODD rules and communications. Ability to perform math for required job activities (i.e., service logs, hours on documentation, authorizations, claims/billing). Phone and computer skills including accessing information in Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD)\xe2\x80\x99s online systems, using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook), Brittco, Job Router, and use the internet for job related activities. Broad knowledge of DD programs and services including those supporting adults, children and residential services. Must have excellent verbal/written communication skills. Reading skills with the ability to read and understand service documentation, and DODD rules and communications. Ability to perform math for required job activities (i.e., service logs, hours on documentation, authorizations, claims/billing). Abilities: Ability to evaluate and monitor files/data for completeness. Ability to follow-up on concerns and problems. Ability to assess and evaluate services according to established guidelines. Ability to develop and maintain a work schedule to accommodate: conducting reviews, communications, report writing, and data entry. Ability to gather, analyze and interpret data. Other Expectations: Report unusual incidents and major unusual incidents. Completes all required training and maintains strict confidentiality. Regular attendance is mandatory. Must possess a positive customer service attitude and image to all stakeholder groups. Good organizational skills. Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy (record keeping, report writing, data entry). Ability to train and/or educate internal and external partners on compliance. Must possess reliable transportation. HYBRID WORK ENVIRONMENT: OUTDOOR / COMMUNITY This is a community-based role. Work is normally performed primarily in the community. The employee may be exposed to and work in a multi-stimuli office environment with open doors, equipment noise, with frequent interruptions by employees. Works indoors in a temperature-controlled environment. Job Type: Full-time Pay: $23.31 - $27.57 per hour Benefits:
