Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Purchasing Agent to join our procurement team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials and services essential for our operations. This role requires a strong understanding of supply chain management, inventory control, and procurement processes, with proficiency in various ERP systems. The Purchasing Agent will play a critical role in ensuring the timely availability of quality materials while optimizing costs and maintaining supplier relationships to support overall production and business objectives.

Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end procurement processes, including sourcing, negotiation, and purchasing of materials and services. Utilize ERP systems such as JOBB BOSS, EPICOR, SAP, SAP ERP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, AS400, and other supply chain management tools to track inventory levels, purchase orders, and supplier performance. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of quality products while maintaining favorable pricing and contract terms. Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and stay informed about industry trends affecting sourcing strategies. Collaborate with production planning and logistics teams to align procurement activities with manufacturing schedules and inventory requirements. Monitor inventory levels and implement effective inventory control measures to prevent shortages or excess stock. Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships through effective communication, negotiation, and contract management. Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and ethical standards in all procurement activities. Support e-commerce procurement channels and manage sourcing for online platforms as needed.

Skills

Proficiency in ERP systems such as JOB BOSS, EPICOR, SAP, SAP ERP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, AS400, with a solid understanding of materials management, MRP, procurement, sourcing, and supply chain management modules. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable pricing and contractual terms. Experience in inventory management, logistics coordination, production planning, and merchandising. Knowledge of contracts management and pricing strategies within a supply chain context. Excellent analytical skills for market research and cost analysis. Effective communication skills for supplier negotiations and cross-departmental collaboration. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities efficiently. Pay: $54,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
