Responsible for hands-on purchasing, sourcing, development and implementation of supply strategies, supply base and supply arrangements. The result will be measurable competitive advantages for the company in terms of technology, delivery and cost. Responsible for logistics, freight strategies, inventory returns, Cost and Quality analysis, warehouse/inventory, materials, supplier and purchasing (Supply chain and logistics).



Trains and directs the Purchasing Assistant position.



Essential Functions



5+ years of experience in Purchasing and a Bachelor's degree is a plus. Prefer experience purchasing HVAC Mechanical parts & supplies. Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management expertise. Positive supplier and vendor relationship-building skills that improve overall supplier relationships including supplier performance metrics. Experience working with ERP software. Manage impact to the bottom-line with purchasing and inventory control. Effective at initiating vendor bidding process, evaluation and selection of suppliers. Maintain a strategic sourcing model to assure a supply base that is stable, reliable, cost effective and quality conscious. Devise and report "Continuous Process Improvement." (Improve Vs. maintain) Ensure a competitive sourcing environment leading to continuous improvement in quality, cost, service and technology. Improve overall supplier relationships including supplier performance metrics: capability to deliver timely, cost and quality improvements. Continuously and proactively seek ways to save delivery time and company money. Back up for Warehouse Supervisor and Inventory as needed.

Responsibilities/Duties



Direct PO request, approval, creation of a purchase order record and tracking goods. Manage and deliver cost reductions, lead-time reductions, favorable payment terms, etc. Manage consolidation of purchasing and inventory to a centralized model representing all functions of purchasing and inventory. Interface with warehouse, inventory and tool room processes as a function of centralizing purchasing and inventory. Review and Approval of all emergency purchases. Assisting in the creation of purchasing agreements, contracts and subcontracts on behalf of the Companies. Assisting Functional Areas in making informed, best practice purchasing decisions. Responsible for ASL (Approved Suppliers List) for commodity, supplier selection and qualification. Review of all procurement related agreements. Responsible for optimizing freight logistics and deliveries. Manage freight and logistics costs and implement optimized, cost effective tools for controlling costs and mitigating liability. Build lasting strategic relationships with new and current vendors. Periodic travel to supplier's manufacturing sites as needed. Works as a team with Warehouse & Material Controller. Responsible for all daily orders. Track credits and returns. Organize pick-up and deliveries with Warehouse Manager to Project Managers. Check on pending orders in Timberline every day. Resolve invoice problems. Consignment re-orders and pricing up dates. Price increases for warehouse stock and maintain Y-Order. Organize cycle counts in warehouse.

Monitoring - Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself and others to make improvements or take corrective action as it relates to the position and duties. Mathematics -- Knowledge of mathematics to solve problems. Software -- Microsoft Outlook, Word and other software if job requires. Getting Information -- Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources. Time Management - Managing one's own time and others as it relates to the position and duties. Service Orientation - Actively looking for way to help people. Coordination - Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions. Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work -- Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.
