We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Punch Press Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will operate punch press machines to shape and cut sheet metal and other materials with precision and efficiency. Your expertise will ensure that parts meet strict quality standards while maintaining a safe and productive work environment. Duties

Set up and operate various punch press machines, CNC punch presses, and mechanical presses, ensuring proper tooling and safety measures are in place. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to produce parts accurately according to design requirements. Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to inspect parts for dimensional accuracy and quality compliance. Perform routine maintenance on punch press equipment, including tool changes, adjustments, and troubleshooting minor mechanical issues. Utilize CNC programming skills to input or modify machine commands for complex or repetitive tasks. Conduct quality inspections throughout the production process, ensuring finished parts meet GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards. Operate auxiliary equipment such as forklifts, welding tools, and fabrication hand tools as needed for material handling and finishing processes. Maintain detailed records of production runs, inspections, and maintenance activities in accordance with safety and quality protocols.

Skills

Proficiency in operating punch press machinery including press brake machines. Ability to read complex blueprints and technical drawings accurately; familiarity with GD&T principles is essential. Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of tooling setups, calibration procedures, and machine troubleshooting. Experience with welding techniques and sheet metal fabrication processes. Skilled in using hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments for quality inspection. Basic math skills necessary for measurements, calculations related to machining tolerances, and production planning. Knowledge of manufacturing safety standards and procedures to ensure a safe working environment at all times. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced production setting while maintaining attention to detail.
