PUBLIC ASSISTANCE CASEWORKER
(Eligibility/Referral Specialist 2) PAY RANGE: $18.79 \xe2\x80\x90 $25.52 per hour (placement in pay range is dependent on experience and education) LOCATION: 74 S. Second St., Newark, Ohio 43055 HOURS: Full\xe2\x80\x90Time (40 hours per week), Monday through Friday DUTIES: Licking County Job & Family Services (LCJFS) provides the community with public assistance, workforce development, and protective services. The Agency is seeking talented, compassionate individuals to assist in the provision of public assistance benefits to families and individuals in need. LCJFS offers a team atmosphere, excellent wages and benefits, paid time off after 90 days, public retirement system, and more. Public Assistance Caseworkers will explain potential programs and determine initial and ongoing eligibility for public assistance programs such as Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Ohio Works First (OWF), Medicaid,
SNAP/Food Assistance, etc. Caseworkers will approve or deny eligibility based on established State and Agency regulations and procedures. This includes conducting interactive interviews via phone, face\xe2\x80\x90to\xe2\x80\x90face, and through the shared services call center. Caseworkers will utilize and enter data into the Ohio Benefits computer system and associated computer systems. Caseworkers will process forms, prepare, and issue notifications, and obtain documentation from potential recipients such as income information, family size, resources, residence data, etc.
Caseworkers will compute applicant budgets, explain applicant rights and responsibilities, and ensure recipients have signed and understand required documents. As applicable, caseworkers will refer applicants to other Agency or community resources. Performs other duties as assigned. Agency Preferred Minimum Qualifications Successful Public Assistance Caseworkers will possess an associate degree in a relevant area such as human services, business, accounting, or other related area and one (1) year experience working with the public. Caseworkers must have competency in the use of computers. Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
