Job Summary
Under direction, develops and coordinates the operations, processes, and systems related to a specific City or department program. Leads staff in the implementation of program operations and ensures services are delivered efficiently and effectively. May exercise supervision over assigned staff.

Essential Job Functions

• Coordinates multiple public art capital projects. Public art capital projects are like any other capital project, however, they must adhere to additional public art policies and guidelines that impact various phases of each project, selecting artists, design review and approval process, and innovations and creative solutions for built-environment and open spaces.
• Responsible for providing project management for the City of San Antonio's Department of Arts & Culture, Public Art Division.
• Coordinates with community and partner organizations to develop and implement program initiatives and gathers feedback from stakeholders on potential program improvements.
• Responsible for delivering all public art related capital projects associated with bond and non-bond funding allocations approved by City Council. Ensures successful project implementation from start to finish and quality performance/function of municipally- commissioned public art.
• Coordinates with community and stakeholders to develop and implement public art projects and gathers feedback from stakeholders throughout the life of the public art project.
• Assists in developing and managing program budgets and resources to ensure program success.
• Assists in developing and managing project budgets and resources to ensure program success.
• Ensures compliance with established program requirements associated with contracts and/or grants.
• Ensures compliance with established program requirements. Develops methods, procedures, and quality objectives including metrics for assessing progress; utilizes established project standards, procedures, and quality objectives.
• Facilitates improvements related to identified operational and technical needs and requirements.
• Coordinates, implements, and evaluates program operations, initiatives, and services.
• Develops and coordinates community outreach related to program initiatives and services.
• Coordinates and facilitates communications with relevant department and city staff regarding program needs.
• Assists, prepares, monitors, and evaluates the annual departmental and/or divisional budget.
• Prepares written reports, summaries, and presentations on program performance, plans, and projections.
• Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
• Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in program or policy analysis, development, and/or management, to include one (1) year of supervisory or lead experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree
• Professional work experience in the field of Public Art
• Experience in arts administration and the implementation and management of design, fabrication and installation of arts project
• Experience in working with community stakeholders and/or design and construction teams
• Experience in data management, professional presentations and status reporting

Applicant Information

• Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.
