About The Position



The Public Affairs Manager position will assist Perpetua Resources in developing and maintaining a social license and successful project development by implementing best practice communications and stakeholder engagement strategies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities



Media Relations



Proactively position the project with local and national media. Track national and local media articles and trends, provide regular media updates to Perpetua leadership. Serve as an on-the-record company spokesperson, facilitating productive working relationships with national, state, and local media contacts. Serve as point for all media pitching and booking. Coordinate reporter outreach, briefings, and tours. Lead media prep and collaborate with senior executives to position the company to capture the news cycle around critical milestones. Manage preparation and approval of media responses. Identify and publicize community and industry outreach activities, sustainability programs, and other positive company actions.

Messaging & Strategic Positioning



Assist VP of External Affairs to develop and implement long- and short-term communications strategies to strengthen the Company's social license. With the VP of External Affairs, align messaging and content across internal and external channels based on organizational and team goals. Manage Perpetua's message database and coordinate content approvals with technical and disclosure teams. Develop and implement internal communications protocols, like talking points, fact sheets, and early notification systems, targeting continuity in culture and message as company grows. Assist the VP of External Affairs in crisis management and preemptive planning. Identify and implement public messaging to address opposition or misinformation. Identify and implement messaging to bolster project support among stakeholders. Manage the regular implementation of outreach tools including newsletters, blogs, webinars, etc. Host company office hours and webinars monthly.

Content Creation, Materials & Website



Lead content creation, including but not limited to press releases, op-eds, fact sheets, newsletters, speeches, and blog posts. Serve as point person with communications vendors on content creation projects, including video projects, graphic creation, and paid social. Oversee digital operations, including organic and paid social media and graphic development, based on strategic messaging and audience targeting. Own the lifecycle management of multimedia projects, such as video content, to enhance storytelling. Oversee Perpetua brand implementation. Assist team members with presentation materials that are in-brand and meet communications goals. Develop communications materials for multiple audiences and stakeholder groups. Manage website content, including uploading new content as required and implementing regular audits to ensure accuracy and appropriate updates are made. Review website metrics and work to optimize user experience and stakeholder engagement.

Outreach



Assist Community Relations Manager with outreach to specific communities, stakeholder groups and individuals. Assist Public Affairs team in planning company and community events. Assist Public Affairs team identify and schedule stakeholder outreach opportunities. Participate in public tours as needed. Attend community events and participate in the community as a representative of Perpetua Resources. Assist the VP External Affairs in Government Relations activities.

Investor Relations Support



Assist Investor Relations team with needed communications materials and tools. Assist Investor Relations team with outreach to target audiences. Assist Investor Relations team with disclosure activities. Assist Investor Relations team in reporting on key metrics.

Other



Assist in regular internal reporting of Public Affairs activities. Assist VP External Affairs with managing special Public Affairs projects. Projects and tasks as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and in front of an audience. Ability to easily meet new people and engage in conversation. Ability to work independently toward identified goals and collaboratively with a team. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to be enthusiastic and possess a strong positive attitude.

Minimum Qualifications



Bachelor's Degree 8+ years of experience in communications strategy and public affairs Provide own transportation and have valid Driver's License

The position requires lifting or moving up to 20 pounds occasionally. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

What we Require



Candidates may be required to pass a medical exam. Candidates must pass all required training and/or testing. Employees may be required to work a non-standard schedule, which may include shift work (other than day shift) at a 24/7, 365-day operation. Pay: $100,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
