Part-Time Art Teacher (K12)Reports to:

Campus Principal Location: Pegasus School of Liberal Arts and SciencesJob Type: Part-Time, Contract Position SummaryThe Part-Time Art Teacher fosters creativity, artistic expression, and visual literacy for students in grades K12. This educator provides engaging, developmentally appropriate art instruction aligned to state standards while supporting the schools mission to cultivate curiosity, imagination, and a lifelong appreciation for the arts. The Art Teacher creates a positive, inclusive studio environment where all students feel encouraged to explore, experiment, and grow as artists.Key ResponsibilitiesInstruction & CurriculumPlan and deliver creative, standards-aligned visual arts lessons for students across grade levels K12.Teach a range of artistic techniques, media, and processes, including drawing, painting, sculpture, collage, and digital art (as available).Differentiate instruction to meet the developmental and skill needs of varied age groups and learners.Integrate art history, cultural context, and contemporary art practices into lessons.Incorporate cross-disciplinary connections to reinforce learning across subjects.Classroom & Studio ManagementMaintain a safe, organized, and inspiring art studio environment.Teach and model proper use and care of art materials and equipment.Ensure students follow classroom routines, studio expectations, and safety guidelines.Manage art supplies, inventory, and budget for materials within allotted resources.Student Assessment & SupportAssess student learning through a variety of methods, including portfolios, critiques, and project-based demonstrations.Provide constructive feedback that encourages artistic growth, creativity, and self-expression.Support students with varied abilities, ensuring equitable access to meaningful art experiences.School & Community EngagementDisplay student artwork throughout the school and assist with schoolwide exhibitions or showcases.Collaborate with teachers and staff to support school events, interdisciplinary projects, and arts-based initiatives.Communicate with families as needed regarding student progress, events, and classroom expectations.Professional ResponsibilitiesMaintain accurate records of lessons, attendance, and student progress.Participate in required meetings, trainings, and professional development (as applicable to part-time status).Uphold school policies, procedures, and the mission of the Pegasus School of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
