Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of psychiatric care, with the ability to assess, diagnose, and treat patients across various settings. This role requires a compassionate approach to patient care, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Duties



Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs. Prescribe medications and monitor their effectiveness while managing side effects. Provide psychotherapy and counseling to patients and their families. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients about mental health conditions, treatment options, and wellness strategies. Participate in clinical research initiatives as needed. Stay current with advancements in psychiatric practices and treatments.

Skills


The successful candidate should possess a diverse skill set that includes but is not limited to:

Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks. Experience in critical care settings, including ICU and emergency medicine. Knowledge of behavioral health practices and psychopharmacology. Ability to perform procedures such as suturing, IV insertion, phlebotomy, and spinal taps. Familiarity with medical coding (ICD-9, ICD-10) and workers' compensation law. Experience with pediatric populations, including working with children and adolescents. Competence in acute pain management, hospice & palliative medicine, geriatrics, and senior care. Strong assessment skills for patient evaluation and diagnosis. Excellent communication skills for effective patient education and collaboration with healthcare teams. Ability to provide telehealth services as needed. Candidates who have experience in specialized areas such as gastroenterology, infectious disease care, or home care will be considered favorably. A commitment to continuous learning and professional development is essential for this role.

Pay: From $120,341.59 per year
