Why does the job exist?



To provide rehabilitation and improve the quality of life for adults and families in need of mental health services.

How does it get done?



Provides mental health care, including medical diagnosis, treatment, prescription

of medication and therapies, patient counseling, and staff consultation within area

of specialization.

Performs annual history and physical examinations and manages chronic mental health conditions.

Orders and interprets laboratory tests, diagnostic imaging, and other tests.

Provides education and training regarding medication and diagnosis to patients, family, staff, and other approved entities.

For adults with mental health needs from San Miguel, Mora, and Guadalupe Counties.

Minimum Qualification



Licensed by the New Mexico Board of Nursing as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP), Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), or as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) by the New Mexico Department of Health.

Employment Requirements



1. SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITIONS--This position ls designated as safely sensitive. Employment Is subject to pre-employment and random testing. In accordance with all terms and conditions of federal and state law, rules, and regulations in relation to alcohol and/or drug testing. Employment ls subject to nationwide criminal background checks and is conditional pending results.

2. CRIMINAL RECORDS BACKGROUND CHECK-Must successfully complete post offer pre-employment criminal records background check. Employment is conditional pending the results of criminal records background checks. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Successful completion of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Working Conditions



Work is performed in an office setting and may require travel to off-site clinic locations. Individual with have exposure to Visual/ Video Display Terminal (VDTI and extensive computer and phone usage.
