Job Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive mental health care to patients across various settings, including outpatient clinics and inpatient facilities. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, and treat mental health disorders while ensuring the highest standards of patient care.

Responsibilities



Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments to determine patient needs. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings. Prescribe medications and monitor their effectiveness while managing potential side effects. Provide psychotherapy and counseling services to patients and their families. Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients about mental health conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies. Participate in clinical research initiatives to enhance treatment methodologies. Stay updated with advancements in psychiatric care practices and technologies.

Skills


The ideal candidate will possess a diverse skill set that includes but is not limited to:

Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Athenahealth, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks. Experience with various medical procedures including IV infusion, suturing, phlebotomy, and catheterization. Knowledge of psychopharmacology and experience administering injections. Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9 & ICD-10) and CPT coding for accurate medical documentation. Strong background in behavioral health, acute care, geriatrics, pediatrics, or emergency medicine. Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations and physical examinations effectively. Experience working in diverse settings such as hospitals (Level I & II trauma centers), outpatient clinics, assisted living facilities, or home care environments. Excellent patient assessment skills alongside a solid understanding of anatomy and physiology. Competence in managing complex cases including those involving developmental disabilities or dementia care. Pay: $111,802.25 - $134,643.56 per year
