An exceptional Medical Center in Alaska is actively searching for a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to join its Education Department and work in Behavioral Health Care Services. Join one of Anchorage\xe2\x80\x99s top hospitals, and support an extensive psychiatric services department.

The Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist will help contribute to the success of this hospital by supporting education and nursing practice for a facility that\xe2\x80\x99s earned national recognition for superior Heart Care, Outstanding Patient Experience, and High-Acuity Adult Critical Care Services.

The Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist will be the clinical leader for the behavioral health program for the hospital. The Psychiatric CNS will have the advanced knowledge and skills required for this role including clinical expertise in a focus area, evidence-based practice, mentoring, consultation, collaboration, education, and transformational/change leadership that are essential to advance the practice of nursing and the professional development of nurses. A qualified candidate must possess a CNS certification and have previous behavioral health experience.

The Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist will have specialized knowledge and skills that will be used within three major areas of focus: patient direct care, nurses & nursing practice, and the organization and systems. The Behavioral Health CNS will be accountable for collaborating with members of the health care team to design, implement, and measure safe, cost-effective, evidence-based care strategies.

The CNS will work closely with the Behavioral Health Nurse Manager and work alongside very reputable and well-respected physicians in the department. The Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist will report to the VP of Patient Services and Director of Psychiatric Services.
