Join our team as a

PSM Specialist

and play a key role in advancing a best-in-class Process Safety Management program. You'll own PSM program elements, ensure compliance, and collaborate cross-functionally to strengthen safety and operational excellence.





What You Will Do:







Drive compliance with OSHA PSM, EPA Risk Management Plan (RMP), and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Maintain and implement PSM and RMP program elements, including documentation, updates, submissions, and audits. Partner with Safety, EHS, Maintenance, and Refrigeration teams to ensure ammonia system reliability, operability, and compliance. Facilitate and document PHAs, revalidations, project hazard reviews, and incident investigations, including root cause analyses and regulatory reporting. Oversee Management of Change (MOC), Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR), contractor management, and Hot Work Permit programs. Support development and maintenance of operating procedures, training programs, and certification requirements for employees and contractors. Assist with inspection, testing, preventive maintenance, and equipment reliability programs for ammonia systems. Consult, coach, and mentor leaders and refrigeration staff on PSM, RMP, company standards, and technical requirements. Collaborate with site leadership on emergency planning, HazMat response, technical recommendations, and project support. Ensure PSM-related recommendations are reviewed and addressed by facility management in a timely manner.




What We Look For:







Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Safety, Environmental, Engineering, or a related technical field. Minimum 2 years of experience in PSM, EHS, or process safety within manufacturing, food, or agricultural environments. Working knowledge of OSHA PSM and EPA RMP regulatory requirements; ammonia refrigeration experience preferred. Familiarity with hazard analysis methodologies (e.g., What-If, HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA). Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence and partner across all levels of the organization. Self-motivated, results-driven mindset with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities. Experience facilitating training, meetings, or safety-related initiatives. Project management skills with the ability to apply critical thinking to technical and operational challenges. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and compliance or PSM management systems (APSM experience a plus).




What We Offer:




The base salary range for this position is $58,500 to $97,500 annually, with eligibility for a 5% annual incentive bonus based on organizational performance. The range reflects factors such as experience, skills, education, certifications, and location, and starting salary may fall anywhere within the stated range.

Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) of a technical nature in Safety, Environmental, Safety Science, Engineering or related area


Years of Experience: 2+ years related experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Experience in PSM - Ammonia is preferred


Experience in implementing safety programs in manufacturing and agricultural or food production environments


Experience in hazard evaluation techniques such as Hazard Identification (HazID), What-If, Hazard and Operability (HazOp), Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) and others as needed


Ability to facilitate, direct and motivate employees and organize and coordinate various safety training activities


Technical knowledge of manufacturing facility utilities such as ammonia, strongly desired


Project management skills and critical thinking ability


Experience with capital project management process flow and execution


Able to use software and common Microsoft office tools to generate and track metrics, compliance obligations, workflows and action items


Experience with APSM software platform a plus
