We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic Resident Services Coordinator for two Independent Senior Living Communities in the Kansas City and Independence area. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing resident needs, developing and/or identifying programming to meet those needs, making resource information available to residents, and providing connections to needed services for low-income residents in affordable housing developments. The successful candidate needs to be passionate about building relationships and making a difference with people.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop a comprehensive understanding of residents (conduct needs assessments, community meetings, etc.) in order to offer residents the opportunity to assist their community and to guide them towards appropriate services and resources.
Develop strategies to link residents with needed services, including providing assistance in overcoming various barriers that might impede access to services.
Establish and maintain partnerships with relevant organizations and individuals, with an emphasis on providing on-site services to residents and the community.
Implement priority programs and essential activities through partnerships with other community based service providers/organizations. When other service organizations are not available, may deliver direct services.
Collect required data for all programming offered, record data in the database and submit reports in an accurate and timely manner. Maintain all reporting requirements set by funding and/or governmental agencies.
Be an active member of the site team, working collaboratively with the property manager and other site staff to meet property needs and resolve any resident concerns.
Plan and coordinate recreational, cultural and social activities
Develop and maintain a comprehensive list of available community resources (employment, education, social service agencies, etc.) for residents.
Attends all staff meetings, training sessions, and other appropriate meetings and conferences as required.
Participate in relevant local, regional, state and/or national organizations as assigned.
Maintain a positive customer relations attitude
Deal with resident concerns and requests on timely basis to ensure resident satisfaction
Develop resident activities and events to encourage and sustain resident engagement within the community
Conducts all business in accordance with company policies and procedures, Fair Housing, Americans with Disabilities Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and all other laws pertaining to multifamily housing.
SKILLS
Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office, required
Ability to develop effective working partnerships with various types of community groups and institutions.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Demonstrated ability to establish trusting, confidential relationships.
Excellent customer service skills
Dependability and attendance - it is expected to arrive on time to work each day
Ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with residents, employees, and vendors

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee will be regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and reach using feet, legs, back, arms and hands. Employee will be required to work at a desktop computer and talk on the phone for extended periods of time. The employee must possess the ability to detect auditory and/or visual alarms and be available to work extended/flexible hours and weekends, as needed. Employee will have the occasional need to perform the following activities: bend/squat, climb stairs, push/pull, reach above shoulder, pick up litter, filing, open/close doors, heavy walking, and moderate lifting. The employee will have the occasional need to lift/carry 20/25 lbs.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma, or equivalent, required
Experience working with Seniors, preferred
Experience in the field of Social Work, preferred
