The Property Ownership Technician primarily assists the Property Ownership Technician Lead as assigned for responsible for changes of real estate ownership and changes of addresses. The Property Ownership Technician needs to have an understanding of deed processing and understand that having up to date property ownership records is essential to taxpayers receiving notices and information about their property. Assists the Property Ownership Technician Lead with maintaining all ownership records in the appraisal and tax software systems. Receive deeds, Court records, plats, surveys and other ownership documents in order to update records to reflect current ownership status. Maintain deed log as needed. Assist Property Ownership Technician Lead with processing splits or combinations of real estate parcels. This may include researching whether the parcels to be combined have separate mortgages attached and researching whether the parcels to be combined are in the same ownership name. Assist Property Ownership Technician Lead with processing new plats and subdivisions. This may include setting up the newly created parcels from those documents with parcel identification numbers and ownerships for each parcel affected. Assist Property Ownership Technician Lead with research of property ownership issues. Assist with directing customer questions to appraisal staff when needed.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have a High School diploma or the equivalent.
Must possess the ability to read and interpret legal descriptions.
Experience in real estate sales, abstracting or surveying preferred.
Experience or training in the use of personal computers including Microsoft Word and Excel Software.
Physical Requirements:
Determined Work Level: Level 2 Light Work Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently. Required walking or standing to a significant degree; or requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls. Ability to hear directions and communicate ideas by means of the spoken word. Must have fine and gross manual dexterity to operate the telephone, calculator, typewriter, and computer.
