We're looking for a reliable, hands-on property caretaker to help with the upkeep of our land and animals in Woodstock, Vermont. This is a part-time role. Potential for free housing in exchange for a few hours of work each week if interested.
What you'll help with:
Mowing lawns and clearing trails in spring, summer, and fall
Shoveling walkways in winter (driveway is plowed by a contractor)
Feeding round bales to cows in winter tractor use required
Caring for our small herd of rotationally grazed cows, forest pigs, meat birds, laying hens
Light property maintenance and seasonal projects as needed
Time commitment:
Spring-Fall: Around 10-20 hours per week, depending on what's needed
Winter: Around 5-10 hours per week
If interested:
A comfortable 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom home on-site in exchange for caretaking work -- rent-free, you pay only utilities
We're open to discussing use of the land, including forestland, gardens, and pasture.
This setup could work well for someone who's semi-retired, starting a small homestead, or simply enjoys quiet, rural living. You should be comfortable working independently, operating a tractor, and have some experience with outdoor work or animal care.
If you're interested, we'd love to hear from you -- tell us a bit about your background and why this might be a good fit for you.
