Job Description

R2 Companies is seeking a Commercial Property Accountant to work in our Chicago Office. This position is responsible for a portfolio of owned assets and works closely with Property Management, Asset Management and ownership. Our Property Accounting team is involved in all facets of real estate accounting and finance. This position is best suited for a team player and someone who is interested in the accounting and business of commercial real estate.

Responsibilities will include:

Completion of month-end, quarter end and year-end close activities from balance sheet and cash account reconciliations Management and accounts payable and receivable activities for assigned portfolio Production and management of variance reports Reconciliation of monthly bank statements Management of debt and debt payments Preparation and review properly documented journal entries. Management of cash forecasts Assistance with Budgets and Forecasts as needed, working with asset management and Finance leadership. Involvement in special projects and other functions as required by manager. Production of monthly, quarterly, and annual property reporting accurately and on time.

Job Requirements:

2+ years' experience in a professional accounting/bookkeeping role

Accounting degree or significant work experience

Proficiency in MS Office

Yardi experience is a plus ++

Experience in commercial real estate accounting is required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
