Summary



As a Project Manager/Construction Manager, you will oversee construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget. Reporting to senior management, you will utilize your core skills in construction management and project scheduling, while leveraging premium tools like ProCore. Your role will involve coordinating with various stakeholders, managing contracts, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations, including OSHA 10. With a strong emphasis on communication and analysis, you will drive project success in a dynamic commercial construction environment.

Provides overall administrative and technical direction, enforces company and project policies, main client interface, and ensures project is constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule through project engineers

Essential Functions



-Demonstrates high level of technical knowledge of commercial construction, contracts, and other construction documents and specifications

- Ability to read and understand details of an owner contract, subcontract, purchase orders and other agreements

-Demonstrated experience in two or more sides of business (engineer; field superintendent; estimator; purchasing, etc.)

-Ability to negotiate 75% of change order issues

-Capable of creating and tracking iron clad PCO Log (through appropriate project management system)

-Successfully handles multiple SPA (small project account) type assignments (of considerable size, complexity, and value)

-Successfully completes CM/owner agent assignments

-Prepares and manages small and large schedules

-Demonstrates a high level of customer service

- Demonstrates understanding of the importance of serving the internal and external customer and successfully executes on customer service

-Maintains and is recognized as having a positive and professional interactions with the owner(s)/customer(s)

-Demonstrates ability to work well within a team and shows high level of leadership

-Displays initiative, leadership, and independent thinking within assignment guidelines

-Demonstrates adaptability and flexibility (e.g., willing to travel, reprioritize schedule, etc.)

-Takes the lead role for specific duties on moderately complex assignments

-Handles significant contractors and assignments with maturity

-Demonstrates strong sense of accountability on both small/simple projects as well as larger/complex projects

-Demonstrates ability to professionally and productively handle confrontation

-Maintains a positive professional demeanor among peers and colleagues

-Demonstrates strong knowledge of project financials

-Displays actions related to profitability; understands and implements profitable procedures

-Successfully and regularly handles most aspects of SPA type assignments (up to $5 million in contractual value)

-Successfully handles $3-$10 million project/program as a superintendent/engineer

-Independently handles purchasing/buyout or estimating of $5-$10 million project (or collective group of projects)

-Demonstrates strong understanding of risk management and safety proactively reporting unsafe work practices

-Ability to write project scope for most trades to avoid overlap

-Ability to manage cost events and expedite solutions to avoid claims

-Demonstrates understanding and execution of safety planning for risk avoidance on most tasks

-Demonstrates understanding of contract differences and can effectively manage them

Additional Responsibilities



-Continues building industry knowledge through related training (e.g., LEED AP, PE, etc.)

-Supervises staff

Education/Skills & Experience



-Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or related industry degree and 5+ years commensurate experience

-Completed OSHA 10-hour training

-Strong analytical and problem solving ability

-Strong work ethic and team building skills

-Proven knowledge of scheduling techniques and the programs used to generate them

-Working knowledge of MS Office suite and other industry/company related programs

-Strong understanding of safety in the construction environment

-Understanding of importance of project insurance(s)

- Proven written and verbal communication skills

-Ability to effectively present to both and internal and external audience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
