Looking to grow our services in the Pacific Northwest and expand our presence with localities and WSDOT in the region, RK&K seeks to hire a Project Manager in Seattle to support our Transportation team.





As a senior member of our team, you will focus on leading a variety of dynamic pursuits and projects as it relates to transportation, with a key focus on supporting our regional growth.. As a Transportation Project Manager with RK&K you will support public agencies on traffic design and analysis engineering programs throughout our current and future portfolio.

Essential Functions

Perform a variety of tasks, including traffic engineering design plans, preliminary engineering design, transportation planning studies, and traffic operations analysis Support projects for all modes of travel including highway, bus, rail, bicycle and pedestrian in urban, suburban and rural environments Prepare documentation and design plans for traffic control devices, including traffic signals, signing and pavement markings, temporary traffic control, lighting, and Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS) Complete studies and develop high quality traffic reports with limited direction and be able to clearly, professionally present that information to our clients on site and virtually Utilize traffic analysis/simulation tools to perform traffic modeling and simulations Prepare technical reports and presentations Facilitate internal and client meetings, presentations and approval of plans Direct project staff and sub-consultants Serve as liaison between client and firm Execute QA/QC for completeness and accuracy of design work Provide engineering judgment and initiative within the Traffic Engineering field

Required Skills and Experience

Ten (10) + years of progressive experience in traffic engineering Experience working with WSDOT and local municipalities Exceptional writing, verbal communication and presentation skills including public speaking Experience with Highway Safety Manual, Highway Capacity Manual and AASHTO guidelines Traffic control device design (signals, signing and marking, temporary traffic control, ITS) experience using MUTCD . Experience with Synchro/SimTraffic and VISSIM (or simulation analysis software) Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) or ability to obtain within six months.

Preferred Skills and Experience

Masters Degree in Civil Engineering Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) Experience supervising other traffic engineers
