Overview



The Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and execution of construction or business projects from inception to completion. This role ensures that projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, and in full compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The Project Manager leads cross-functional teams, manages client relationships, and oversees all phases of the project lifecycle, including budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and risk management. The role also involves negotiating contracts and change orders, managing subcontractors, and resolving on-site issues to keep projects on track. Success in this position requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities



Ensure full compliance with OSHA safety regulations and enforce company policies on safety, quality, travel, and drug testing. Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of projects from pre-construction through closeout, ensuring delivery on time and within budget. Manage submittals, scheduling, procurement of materials, and pre-job planning activities. Review, prepare, and submit project change orders, extra work orders, back charges, and claims; collaborate with senior leadership on strategy and execution. Serve as the primary liaison with clients; manage project communication, expectations, and issue resolution. Support business development activities, including proposal preparation, risk assessment, contract negotiations, and securing new work. Oversee subcontractor procurement, contract administration, and performance management. Monitor and analyze job cost reports, budget forecasts, re-budgets, and cash flow; prepare monthly billing certifications and lead accounts receivable collection efforts. Conduct regular progress meetings with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to track milestones and address challenges. Identify and mitigate project risks through proactive planning and contingency management. Lead project closeout efforts, including punch list completion, final documentation, and client turnover. Mentor and guide project engineers and junior staff to support team development and ensure project efficiency. Maintain accurate project documentation to support compliance, audits, and historical analysis.

Requirements



Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction, design, specifications, construction materials, surveying, or geotechnical work. Proficient knowledge of bidding procedures and job costing. Strong focus on safety, quality, and ethical standards in the workplace. In-depth understanding of structural and geotechnical design principles. Ability to assess technical risks and opportunities by reviewing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and related documentation. Advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and competency in AutoCAD or similar design software. OSHA 10-hour safety training certification required. Demonstrated skills in client communication, presentations, and contract negotiation. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent interpersonal and team leadership skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking capabilities.

Pay: Up to $70,000.00 per year
