Starting Salary Range:

$87,000 - $120,500; depending on experience

Position Overview:



Develop, estimate, sell and manage multiple, specialized, fast-track mechanical construction projects through effective communication, negotiation, scheduling, tracking, document control, and forecasting of costs and profitability. Generate business plans and expand revenue base through marketing, sales, and business development. Train, mentor, and supervise Project Engineers and Project Coordinators. Support and collaborate with company superintendents, foreman, engineers, detailers, and management to deliver quality and profitable projects.

Key Responsibilities:



Take leadership role and ownership of estimates, project scoping, proposals, project safety and project execution while meeting or exceeding department profitability goals. Understanding of mechanical systems costing and value analysis. Effective communication with UMC engineering staff to ensure complete designs that convey clear scope and scope within project established budget. Effective communication and collaboration with UMC Manufacturing (VCS and fabrication) to maintain a collaborative and supportive team approach. Attend VCS and model coordination meetings. Collaborate with and support UMC business development team to secure new business. Develop and maintain client relations. Review job estimate of direct reports and prepare project budgets. Estimate and negotiate change orders. Track, forecast, report labor hours and material costs. Buyout major equipment and subcontracts. Expedite and track deliveries of major equipment/materials. Maintain working knowledge of general conditions, work scope and specifications of project contract/subcontract. Maintain and control documents in compliance with UMC Standards as well as contractual compliance. Collaborate with field labor supervision to plan, organize and schedule project work including preparation of subcontract/contract integrated project schedule. Review contract drawings, detail drawings and specifications. Prepare fabrication shop work package including detail drawing review, material take off and buyout, and man-hour fabrication budget. Ensure full compliance with UMC Safety Program at the jobsite. Provide proactive, clear, and timely communication to team members. Be professional and uphold UMC Core Values. Required Skills and Abilities:



Ability to accurately estimate mechanical work. Ability to lead and foster a positive working environment. Ability to understand and communicate basic mechanical concepts. Advanced organizational and time management skills Attention to detail - errors & mistakes can result in significant financial losses. Strong written and oral communication skills Strong work ethic - results driven. Ability to multi-task job responsibilities Advanced computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Project, MS Outlook, Bluebeam, Smartsheet, One Drive, MS Teams, SharePoint, BIM360, Viewpoint Team, Viewpoint Vista, One Note.

Supervisory Responsibility:



Supervise Project Engineers and Project Coordinators

Preferred Education and Experience:



A minimum of five years' experience as a mechanical project manager Construction Management or Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Industrial or Chemical Engineering degree desired A minimum of three years' experience managing PM's and PE's. Basic HVAC and plumbing engineering knowledge

Required Licensing and Other Certifications:



Maintain a valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record.
Pay: $87,000.00 - $120,500.00 per year
