Job Description

S&L Inc, a Heavy Civil Excavation Prime Contractor is looking for a Project Manager for parks, roadways, excavation and utilities. We are an established local company with an extensive resume of civil projects.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated construction project manager to join our dynamic team at S&L Inc. As a construction project manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and managing construction projects.

Your responsibilities will include developing and managing project budgets, creating detailed schedules and overseeing resource allocation to ensure optimal execution. You will conduct regular site inspections, review construction plans and specifications, identify potential risks, implement proactive measures to mitigate them and verify that all the work is performed to the highest quality standards.

Construction Project Manager Job Responsibilities:



A construction project manager oversees and coordinates all aspects of construction projects, from initiation to execution and completion. Meticulously plan, direct and manage the project, ensuring it stays on budget and schedule. Handle the preparation and review of project bids and the negotiation and management of subcontractor contracts. Quality control and compliance with safety regulations are crucial aspects of your role. Work closely with stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, contractors and subcontractors, in order to define project objectives, establish timelines, allocate resources and manage budgets. Plans all phases of the construction lifecycle from initiation to completion. Obtains all necessary regulations and permits. Orders necessary supplies, tools, and equipment. Makes sure projects are aligned with agreed-upon plans. Manages a construction manager and oversees their work. Communicates with customers and delivers project progress reports. Develops and adheres to the budget, timeline, and quality control plan. Collaborates with architects, engineers, electricians, and other specialists. Ensures that all local, state, and national building codes and regulations and safety precautions are followed. Uses scheduling software to update schedules, track progress, and document project progression.

Project Manager Qualifications and Skills:



Knows how to use popular construction project management software. Build strong relationships with customers, contractors, and construction workers. Supervises a construction foremen and project engineers Excels at organization, time-management, problem-solving, and budgeting. Ability to set and meet project deadlines while maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer service. Must have knowledge and prior experience (5 years) in running excavation projects. Ability to build and train teams, identify the right tasks for each team member, and delegate responsibilities accordingly. The ability to identify and analyze problems, create innovative solutions, and make informed decisions to facilitate project success. Strong work ethic and the ability to meet the physical demands of the job. Demonstrated experience upholding excellent employee and customer relations. A team player who works well with all levels of the organization. In depth knowledge of blueprints, surveys, construction setup and utilities. Strong strategic thinking and creative planning skills. Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment. Adaptable; doesn't mind shifting directions when needed

Education and Experience Requirements:



Bachelor's degree in construction science and management, engineering, architecture, business administration, or a related degree Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 30-Hour Outreach Training Construction Project Management certification Five years of construction experience

Pay: $90,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
