Job Description

SEMS, Inc., an Environmental Engineering and Consulting Firm, is seeking a highly experienced and technically skilled individual to join our team as Project Manager (Professional Engineer License Preferred). The ideal candidate will be a strong leader and collaborator, capable of managing the Jackson office operations, including staff, processes, and client relationships. The candidate should have 7-10+ years of relevant experience in environmental engineering and consulting, with a proven technical background in multiple facets of environmental compliance, assessment, and remediation projects.

Primary Responsibilities:



Oversee all Jackson office operations, including project management, staff management, workflow processes, and reporting to corporate leadership. Plan, schedule, and track projects to ensure timely completion, adherence to budgets, and compliance with all regulatory requirements Oversee commercial and government assessment and remediation projects including field work, project management, and resource management Manage multiple projects including technical, regulatory, quality, and safety Design, implement and manage various soil and groundwater investigations and remedial projects Preparation of environmental assessment reports (Phase I & IIs) and other reporting for remedial actions Provide compliance, permitting, and technical support in various industries Review and/or prepare technical documents and applications Communicate with regulators on compliance issues and permitting Develop and implement quality control, quality assurance, and safety programs across projects Delegate responsibilities to team members and assist in mentoring, training, and professional development of staff Assist with local business development and marketing efforts, including client engagement and proposal support

Skills & Requirements



Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field is required Professional Engineering license preferred 7-10+ years of experience in environmental engineering or consulting with increasing levels of project and staff management responsibility Knowledge of state/federal permitting processes to assist with project management and proposals Proven ability to lead, motivate, and cultivate strong relationships within a team and with clients Demonstrated proficiency in technical writing and communication Ability to manage projects, teams, and meet deadlines Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Office software Attention to detail and quality control/quality assurance programs Ability to cultivate strong relationship within a team Experience working/negotiating with environmental regulators (preferred) Experience in project estimating and proposals (preferred) Able to travel and work a flexible schedule, potentially including after hours and weekends.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
