Job Summary:
Reporting to the Chief Impact Officer, the Senior Project manager will collaborate across the organization to facilitate impactful conversations that help define and implement major, cross-functional strategy initiatives. The Senior Project Manager will lead projects on behalf of senior leadership to achieve the outlined goals and objectives to ensure the success of the organization that is built for the future of work. Ideal candidate will be based in the Washington, DC area.Accountabilities:Builds, develops, and grows partnerships vital to the success of the project.
Manages the operational and tactical aspects of multiple projects in a matrix environment.
Manages and oversees the development of projects from initiation to completion.
May manage projects through others, by building capacity and supporting them through the implementation of project activities, delivering quality and accountability.
Provide guidance and monitoring for project staff, ensuring clarity over project plans and priorities and encouraging effective teamwork.
Develops best practices and tools for project execution and management.
Defines project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals and strategic vision of management.
Coordinates the development and delivery of project plans, documentation, training, presentations and budget proposals to management and staff.
Identifies and resolves project issues and implements improvement plans to ensure project stays on schedule and within budget.
Manages the development of project teams to ensure compliance with policies and procedures; also, to develop and implement process improvement plans.
Identifies partnerships, opportunities, and information to present to management to help achieve strategic goals of the company.
Performs other duties assigned.

Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies to select methods and techniques to obtain results.
Supervision Given/Received:May manage staff and external project members to achieve goals and vision of project from initiation to completion.
Coordinates project plans, budgets, training, and resources with management to achieve strategic goals.
Education:Bachelor's Degree or its International Equivalent in Knowledge/Information Services, Communications, Education, Environment, Health, Behavioral, Life/Social Sciences International Development, Human Development or Related Field.
Master's degree or its international equivalent preferred.
Project Management (PM) Certification required.
Change Management Certification preferred, Prosci or CCMP.
Experience:Typically requires 10+ years of relevant experience (including 3+ years of line management experience) with projects management principles and practices.
Experience working with project management tools such as; JIRA, Asana, Smartsheet, etc.
Experience in multi-functional/matrix management and implementation.
Experience in similar project management role supporting top level executives with organization wide initiatives and change management.
Experience in monitoring and evaluation as well as strategic planning, capacity building and team management.
Prior work experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO) preferred.

Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift/move up to 5 lbs.
